“Vision without action is merely
a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can
change the world!” this is what First Frame focuses on. First Frame, an
International Students’ Film Festival, organized by MBICEM is a unique platform
for students of film & media to showcase their talent to experts and
express themselves in a two day celebration of visual media.
The Timeline:
First Frame 2003: The first
edition of First Frame Film Festival took off with great start with films being
screened in the Indian capital from major media colleges- MBICEM, Indraprastha
College for Women, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Mass Communication and Xavier’s
Institute of Mass Communication.
First Frame 2004: The second edition of the festival went on to become a national students’ film festival. Premier media institutes across the country extended an enthusiastic participation- Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), National Institute of Design (NID), Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Mass Communication Research Center (MCRC)- Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi University, Amity University and Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication. The event was held at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.
First Frame 2007: In its third
edition, First Frame took a significant leap and became international. The
festival received entries from countries like Germany, Sri Lanka, Nepal,
Pakistan, Italy et al alongwith national entries from various media colleges
and institutes of India. The festival was held at Sri Satya Sai Auditorium,
Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
First Frame 2008: The fourth edition of First Frame was held at Sri Satya Sai Auditorium, received 91 entries from 14 countries across the globe. With this edition, First Frame added another feather to its cap by introducing the F8 National Students’ Photography Competition.
