Madhu Bala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media (MBICEM) is a charitable organization committed to increase multiplier effect in the country. Ever since its inception the institute has been organising and conducting short/long duration programmes in the areas of Journalism & Mass Communication in Print, Radio, Television, Photo Journalism, Direction, Production, Lighting, Camera, Video Editing, Computer Graphics, Event Management, Advertising, Public Relations so as to enable the students to establish a single person media shop. This is the only course of its kind in India having comprehensive approach to produce global communication managers, equipped with the latest technical know how in the industry.

Set up in 1996 in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, MBICEM is an initiative in response to the growing demand for trained Media Professionals. Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, with the objective to promote Communication and Electronic Media through Education, Training, Research, Evaluation, Production, Services and Consultancy. In 1999 when the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) came into being with a focus on facilitating Professional Studies, MBICEM decided to get itself affiliated with this University for it realised that its dream of fulfilling the void existing between the industry's demand for Trained Media Professionals and their supply can be suitably bridged only by conducting a three year's programme leading to a degree in Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication.
